GLUTEUS MEDIUS
We know! These exercises can be a pain in the butt - literally! The gluteus medius is one of the three gluteal muscles, situated on the outer surface of the pelvis and often a much overlooked muscle. It sits above the gluteus maximus and attaches to your hip joint, where it provides several important functions (other than aesthetics) such as stabilizing your pelvis, improved stride and often a reduction in back & knee pain. It’s the main muscle involved in stabilizing your hips, as well as rotating them both externally and internally. Our Physiotherapist, Dasha, demonstrates another exercise to strength this muscle.
Talk to your therapist about the right exercise regimen for you. To book an appointment at one of our 5 locations, please see CONTACT tab on this website.
